"Go and make disciples of all nations." (Matthew 28:19-20).
Our mission is to see Christ proclaimed all over the world, beginning right here in Medina. We are currently revamping our Missions department to follow the model of Acts 1:8 - "You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." We do this through financial assistance to Foursquare Missions and other ministries, by providing practical help to those in need, and by being faithful in prayer on behalf of those who are serving.
If you are interested in being a part of Missions through Cornerstone Chapel, please contact the Mission Department.
Missions
Below are some of the ministries which we currently support:
Local: Medina (Jerusalem)
Cups/Cafe (you can also friend them at the Cups Cafe facebook page)
CUPS / CAFE is a community cafe where everything is given away. Tim Van Arsdale heads up this ministry whose motto is: Serving Hope - one cup at a time. We encourage you to contact Tim to see how you can volunteer your time to help members in our community who drop in for coffee, comfort and conversation.
Feeding Medina County
On the third Thursday of each month, this organization meets at the Medina County Fairgrounds at 7:00 a.m. to distribute food to the hungry in our area. We are planning to assist this effort on March 15th - please contact the church office if you are interested in participating.
Faith In Action - Medina County Caregivers
The good folks at Faith In Action provide rides for individuals who are unable to drive. To become involved as a driver, please contact Jo Ellen by calling (330) 952-0342. She will put you on a list based on your availability and will contact you one week in advance of when a ride is needed.
Regional: Akron (Judea)
The volunteers of Jesus Said Ministries meet every Saturday morning from 9:00 am until 11:00 am to minister at one of three locations to 200 plus people and give away FREE food, FREE clothes and the FREE gospel - all in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST!! All food and clothes are donated by people within our community.
We have a collection bin for gently used clothing just opposite the Library which is donated to Jesus Said Ministries, and you are always welcome to check out their website for information on how to volunteer time on Saturday mornings to help feed and clothe the hungry in our region. For further information, contact Frank Maimone at maimone@ppg.com .
National: (Samaria)
Joplin, MO. In 2011, we took two trips to Joplin, MO in partnership with Joplin Family Worship Center to help with the relief efforts for those devastated by the May 2011 Tornado. We continue to support this church's efforts in Joplin through prayer and financial assistance, and will be reviewing possible future opportunities in that area.
Cowen, WV. We are partnering with Mountain Vision Ministries to provide food, clothing and other supplies for the poor in West Virginia. From July 17-20, we will be providing a 3-day VBS Program for the children near Cowen, and helping a small mission agency called Mountain Marketplace Mission with spa services, courtesy of our Spa Ministry, and some help with construction.
If you are interested in joining this mission trip, be sure to pick up the packet of application forms at the Cornerstone Information Booth.
